It all Starts Tomorrow

Starting February 1st, I am going Vegan! The reason I decided to do this is because I am constantly needing to be challenged. I also need to lose 40 pounds!

Over the past 5 years, I have slowly turned my eating habits around for the better, but I am at a stand still and have to make another big leap. And that leap needs to be huge. I am the only one in this house that is going Vegan. My husband, Ryan, is a big meat eater and cannot give up his eating habit. This will make life a little harder knowing there are eggs, milk & meat in the house. I can be strong and do this. My daughter is 2 and luckily doesn't know any better, so she'll be easy to be around. I'll still give her milk & cheese, but her main meals will be like mine, Vegan.

Just the other day, I watched Oprah! That is kind of what got the gears in my head going. The show was called "Food 101," and featured Alicia Silverstone's new book, The Kind Diet. Alicia went Vegan a while back and has noticed great changes in her body and skin. Not to mention, she doesn't gain any weight. This is a very healthy lifestyle that might be a plus for my almost 30 body!

The Vegan lifestyle will end on February 28th, 2010. As the days go on, I will update you all on my weight, overall well being and any changes. Also, I'll share my favorite recipes and things that worked, and that didn't. On top of this great lifestyle, I will be starting a walking regimen to give an added bonus to my weight loss. Any encouragement from you is welcome, along with recipes and tips.
